Mark T. Lavery - Consumer Credit Protection Lawyer
Mark Lavery is a lawyer who has dedicated his career to helping consumers with credit problems. Mark is an aggressive lawyer who prefers to strike first and sue debt collectors before a client has to resort to bankruptcy. Mark started represening consumers in debt collection abuse cases back in 2000.
Mark graduated with honors from Chicago-Kent Law School in 1999, where he was a member of the Law Review. Mark served as a judicial extern to U.S. Magistrate Arlander Keys during law school. Prior to law school, Mark worked as a staff assistant to U.S. Senator Richard Durbin. Mark has a M.A. summa cum laude in Latin American Studies from Tulane University. Mark also graduated with honors from De Paul University with a B.A. in International Studies. Mark speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
Mark has represented hundreds of consumers in Illinois state court and federal courts including the Northern District of Illinois, Central District of California, Southern District of New York, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Mark started practicing consumer credit law while a student at the Law Offices of Chicago-Kent, one of the largest in-house clinical programs in the United States. Before going out on his own, Mark worked for the notable Chicago consumer law practice, The Langone Law Firm.
